Love the Beast: Eric Bana’s Feature Docu Debut

March 19, 2009–Love the Beast, Eric Bana’s directorial debut, a documentary about his admired car, has become the second-highest opening week gross for a domestic documentary in Australia.

Featuring guest turns from “Top Gear” aficionado Jeremy Clarkson, Jay Leno, Phil McGraw and a conga line of his less-famous friends, the 90-minute film about Bana’s cherished 1974 XB Ford Falcon coupe has been received favorable reviews.

“Love the Beast” is distributed by Madman with a similar pattern to that of “Bra Boys” a docu that became Australia’s highest-grossing domestic rerlease with $1.15 million. Dealing with the notorious Bra Boys surf gang, it was narrated by Russell Crowe.
