Little Fugitive (1954): Oscar-nominee Low Budget Indie from Engel and Arkin

This low-budget indie, made in the tradition of the Italian neo-realism, centers on a young boy (Richie Abdrusco), who thinks he is responsible for the deatn of his brother.  As a result, he runs away to Coney Island and spends the day there.

The husband and wife team of Morris Engel and Ruth Arkin also made the highly acclaimed indie, Weddings and Babies, which won a prize at the Venice Film Fest.
