Laughter (1931): Oscar Nominated Comedy Starring Nancy Carroll and Fredric March

In this romantic comedy, produced by Herman Mankiewicz (who co-wrote Welles’ Citizen Kane)  and directed by co-writer Harry dÁbbadie dÁrrast (see below), Nancy Carroll plays a showgirl who marries Frank Morgan for his money.

Things get complicated when her old lover (Fredric March) comes back into her life.
