RKO made the second screen version of Irene, a musical tale that was first performed on Broadway in 1919, then made into a silent film in 1926.
Directed by her husband, British star Anna Neagle plays the title role, a woman working for a wealthy customer (Ray Milland), who gets her a job as a model for a designer (Roland Young).
The secondary cast includes May Robson, Billie Burke and Arthur Treacher.
