Telluride Film Fest 1997–Enfant terrible Harmony Korine, who scripted the controversial youth movie “Kids,” makes a puzzlingly idiosyncratic, and not entirely effective, feature directorial debut with “Gummo,” a realistic, uncompromising look at youth alienation in Middle America.
