The picture brings to life the stories featured in the publication’s final issue. Touted as Anderson’s “love letter to journalists,” the feature was inspired by real-life magazine: The New Yorker.

Watch the trailer

It is Anderson’s tenth feature and his fourth one working with Searchlight.

His previous projects for the studio included “The Darjeeling Limited,” “The Grand Budapest Hotel” and “Isle of Dogs.”

Disney owns Fox, and so “The French Dispatch” will be Anderson’s second Disney film after “The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou,” in 2004.

That movie was a critical and commercial flop.
