Razzie Awards 2021: Another Embarrassment to Golden Globes Voters (Who also Nominated Emily in Paris)

Razzie Awards: Sia’s ‘Music’ Wins 3 as Rudy Giuliani Nabs Two for ‘Borat’ Cameo

Just months after Sia’s feature directorial debut Music did not shock awards observers by landing two Golden Globe nominations–the HFPA is known and notorious for its poor and biased choices. (They also voted for Emily in Paris)

The poorly-reviewed film has secured the dubious distinction of topping the 2021 Razzie Awards, celebrating the worst in film.

Music won three Razzie awards: worst actress (Kate Hudson), supporting actress (Maddie Ziegler) and worst director (Sia).

The film generated controversy before its release as the musician chose to cast Maddie Ziegler as an autistic girl instead of an actor on the spectrum.

The Oscar-nominated Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, The Sacha Baron Cohen-starring sequel, won two Razzie Awards, both for Rudy Giuliani‘s headline-making cameo.

The Razzie Awards got political with the prizes for worst actor and picture, recognizing MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell’s role in his election-fraud film, Absolute Proof, which claimed there was fraud in the 2020 presidential election in which Joe Biden defeated incumbent Donald Trump.

Erotic Polish film 365 Days won worst screenplay.

Robert Downey Jr. starrer Dolittle won worst remake, rip-off or sequel.

In addition to these awards, the Razzies made 2020’s status as the “The Worst Calendar Year Ever!” official by giving last year a Governors’ Award for its horrible achievements.

A complete list of this year’s Razzie Award winners follows.
