Eternally Yours, a light comedy produced by Walter Wanger, is directed by Tay Garnett (better known for “The Postman Always Rings Twice”).
Loretta Young plays Anita, a young woman engaged to Don Barnes (Broderick Crawford), a wealthy man who promises a stable and comfy life.
But when she meets a magician named The Great Arturo (David Niven), he sweeps her off her feet. Dumping Barnes, she marries Arturo and travels with him as his assistant.
After a while, Anita begins to long for a simpler life at home. She’s also upset by Arturo’s flirtatious nature, and worried about the new dangerous stunts. Pulling a trick of her own, Anita disappears, forcing Artuto to set off on a chase to find her.
