Amazon Studios has bought U.S. rights to the drama Complete Unknown, starring Rachel Weisz and Michael Shannon.
The film, directed by Joshua Marston (Maria Full of Grace) from a script he co-wrote with Julian Sheppard, centers on a couple whose life is unraveled when a mysterious former love, portrayed by Oscar winner Rachel Weisz, reappears in the man’s life.
Kathy Bates and Danny Glover also star.
Oscar nominee Michael Shannon portrays a character who hosts a dinner party where one of the guests brings a date who refuses to acknowledge their past history. He follows her into the night after she makes a quick exit.
Complete Unknown made its world premiere at Sundance on January 25.
