The Big Bang, theĀ first documentary by James Toback, better known for his features (Fingers, Exposed, For Love and Money), consists of Toback asking questions about identity and madness, how the cosmos began, belief in God, fears and feelings about sex and death.
The interviewees include actor and former gangster Tony Sirico; producer Don Simpson; the violinist Eugene Fodor; Holocaust survivor, Barbara Traub, boxer Jose Torres; astronomer, a nun, two children, basketball player. As they reveal themselves to the camera, Toback’s philosophical investigation becomes an ensemble piece.
