Before the Flood: DiCaprio’s Docu

DiCaprio’s passion project on climate change, Before The Flood, will receive its European premiere at the upcoming London Film Fest, it was announced Monday.

The documentary will screen Oct. 15  under the festival’s Special Presentations banner, a section which also includes Ava DuVernay’s film on race relations, “The 13th.”

Directed by Fisher Stevens, Before The Flood follows DiCaprio travel the world to speak to scientists, world leaders and other experts to address the issue of climate change and to investigate practical solutions to the challenges.

The Oscar-winning actor of The Revenant, an environmental activist, serves as a producer on the documentary. He was made a U.N. Messenger of Peace two years ago.

“We are thrilled to be presenting the European premiere of “Before The Flood,” a film that is both an urgent and illuminating update on climate change and a passionate clarion call from Leonardo DiCaprio and Fisher Stevens,” said Clare Stewart, director of the BFI London Film Festival.

“Before The Flood” had its world premiere at the Toronto Film Fest on Sept. 9.

The European premiere will take place at London’s Odeon Leicester Square. It is yet to be confirmed whether DiCaprio will attend.
