Bear Nation: Malcolm Ingram’s Gay Docu (LGBTQ Cinema–Gay)

The new documentary from director Malcolm Ingram (“Small Town Gay Bar”), Bear Nation, examines the 2010 International Bear Rendezvous (IBR), organized by the Bears of San Francisco, from February 11 to 15, 2010, with special tour announcements, celebrity guests and exclusive giveaways.
“We are so excited to start our journey with the film at such an important event to me, personally,” says Malcolm Ingram, director of BEAR NATION and who will be at IBR 2010.“ Attending IBR in my early stages of coming out showed me a community that I could identify with and helped me figure out where I fit.”
Shot across North America and the United Kingdom, BEAR NATION is a thoroughly thoughtful, stylistic, and entertaining examination of a rapidly growing diversion of the gay community: the sexualization of fat and hair. Directed by long time “bear” identified Malcolm Ingram, the film started as a personal journey into the complexities of belonging to a subculture of a subculture and became a furry odyssey of discovery.
Additional highlights of BEAR NATION’s presence at IBR 2010 include:
