Rourke is a graduate of New York’s Actor’s Studio. His career has been defined by his performances in “9 1/2 Weeks,” “Barfly,” “Angel Heart,” “Year Of The Dragon,” “Pope Of Greenwich Village,” “Diner,” “Francesco,” and Francis Ford Coppola’s cult classic “Rumble Fish.” More recently, Rourke received acclaim for his roles in Robert Rodriguez’s “Once Upon a Time in Mexico” and “Sin City.”

Rourke’s current release, Darren Aronofsky’s critically
acclaimed film “The Wrestler,” has garnered him an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor, in addition to nominations from Film Independent’s Spirit Awards, the Screen Actor’s Guild, the Broadcast Film Critics Association, and the London Critics Circle Film Awards, and wins for Best Actor from the Golden Globes, the BAFTA Awards, in addition to film groups in Boston, Chicago, Florida, Kansas City, Toronto, and Washington DC.

and directed by Sylvester Stallone.
