Green, David Gordon: Indie to Studio Director (George Washington, Pineapple Express and Beyond)

David Gordon Green is the director of the new comedy, Pineapple Express.

Green garnered the Best First Film Award from the New York Film Critics Circle and the Discovery Award at the Toronto Film Festival with his directorial debut, George Washington. The film also appeared on many annual top-10 lists, including the New York Times and Time magazine.

Green’s Snow Angels, starring Sam Rockwell and Kate Beckinsale, was released earlier this year after making its debut at the 2007 Sundance Film Fest.

Other credits include “Undertow,” which starred Dermot Mulroney and Jamie Bell and was an official selection at the Toronto and New York Film Festivals, and “All the Real Girls,” which received two jury awards at the 2003 Sundance Film Fest and starred Paul Schneider and Zooey Deschanel.

Green was born in Arkansas, raised in Texas, and currently resides in New Orleans.
