Racing Extinction: New Docu by Oscar Winner Louie (The Cove) Psihoyos

Louis Psihoyos, Oscar winner for “The Cove,” is screening of his new documentary, “Racing Extinction.”

The film centers on activists working to protect endangered species against annihilation, showing the links between extinction and carbon emissions. Psihoyos is executive director of the Oceanic Preservation Society and has been a still photographer for National Geographic as well as other publications including Smithsonian, Discover, GEO, Sports Illustrated and Fortune.

“Racing Extinction” will premiere on Discovery Channel later this year.

Psihoyos won the Oscar for “The Cove,” which focuses on the slaughter of dolphins in Taiji to address the larger picture of the ecological threat to the planet.
