Sep 15, 2008–Tom Hanks, multi-Oscar winner (“Philadelphia,” Forrest Gump”) will be honored at the Film Society of Lincoln Center's 36th Gala Tribute on April 27, 2009 at the newly renovated Alice Tully Hall in New York.
Since its start in 1972, past honorees have included Jack Lemmon, Susan Sarandon, Clint Eastwood, Martin Scorsese and Al Pacino. Last year's honoree was actress Meryl Streep.
