Oscar: Good Movies Come From….Adventures of Robin Hood

Where do good movies come from? Are they based on adaptations of books and/or plays?  How many of them rely on original screenplay, written directly for the big screen?

In 1938, The Adventures of Robin Hood was nominated for the Best Picture Oscar and other awards, but failed to get a nod for its screenplay.

Considered to be a classic, with a top notch performance from swashbuckling star Errol Flynn, this Michael Curtiz version was based on the mythology of the legendary figure.
