Oscar 2021: Predictions in Major Categories

This is the year of the women and of actors of color–finally!

Best Picture:

Unless there’s a major upset, Frances McDormand (as producer, not actress) and Chloe Zhao (as director) should start, if they have not already done so, their acceptance speeches.

Expect Nomadland, my favorite film of the year, to sweep the three major awards: Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Adapted Screenplay.
