Passes for the 43rd annual Telluride Film Fest, which takes place over Labor Day Weekend, went on sale March 1.
The date was significant: It was two days after the Oscar show, during which Best Actress Oscar winner Brie Larson (Room) sang the Colorado event’s praises from the Dolby Theater stage.
According to Variety, seven weeks later, they were completely sold out.
It’s by far the fastest the annual Labor Day retreat has reached capacity. Generally, there are still passes available after the Cannes Film Fest in mid-May, but with the increasing popularity of the fest, that has changed.
You cannot disregard the fact that Telluride played (or premiered) six straight best picture winners, beginning with The Artist and Argo, in 2010 and 2011, respectively.
