Frost/Nixon: Ron Howard's Adaptation Is Opening Night of London Film Fest

June 26, 2008–Ron Howard's “Frost/Nixon” will world premiere as opening night of the London Film Festival on October 15.

The bigscreen adaptation of Peter Morgan's play, which won Tony Awards last year, concerns the 1977 encounter between disgraced U.S. prexy Richard Nixon and Brit journo David Frost for a series of interviews that attracted the highest-ever U.S. ratings for a news program.

Frank Langella as Nixon and Michael Sheen as Frost reprise the roles they played on the West End and Broadway. Kevin Bacon, Oliver Platt, Sam Rockwell and Toby Jones round out the cast.

Howard and Brian Grazer are producing for Imagine with Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner for Working Title. Universal Pictures is releasing “Frost/Nixon.”
