Universal Studios has decided to shoot the sequels Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed back-to-back with James Foley at the helm.
Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson return as lovers Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in the Fifty Shades of Grey sequels, while Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti are back as producers, alongside author E.L. James.
Niall Leonard wrote both scripts, which are based on James’ best-selling novels.
“Fifty Shades Darker” is scheduled for release on February 10, 2017, and “Fifty Shades Freed” on February 9, 2018.
“Fifty Shades of Grey” grossed more than $560 million at the global box office this year and was the No. 1 film worldwide for three consecutive weeks.
