Killer Content is co-financing and co-producing Enemies Within, post-9/11 spy story to be directed by Keith Maitland.
Enemies Within explores the competing and contradictory counter-terrorism efforts around a plot set in New York City after 9/11 in the pursuit of terrorist bomber Najibullah Zazi, who trained under one of Osama bin Laden’s trusted deputies.
At the Associated Press, Apuzzo and Goldman, along with Chris Hawley and Eileen Sullivan won the 2012 Pulitzer Prize for Investigative Reporting for their months-long series outlining the New York police department’s surveillance of minority, particularly Muslim neighborhoods following the 9/11 attacks.
Stuart Rich will exec produce “Enemies Within” along with Adrienne Becker and Rachel Gould for Killer.
Tower is an animated documentary that explores the tragic story of America’s first mass school shooting, in which lone gunman Charles Whitman climbed a clock tower at the University of Texas in 1966, shooting 49 people and killing 17.
The film, which won the SXSW Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award for best documentary, will be released by Kino Lorber in October.
