Andrew Ahn’s Spa Night, a film about a young Korean-American coming to terms with his sexual identity, was recognized with the U.S. Grand Jury Prize at Outfest, the Los Angeles LGBT film fest.
The event concluded Sunday, July 17, 2016, with a screening of Chris Kelly’s Other People, starring Jesse Plemons, Zach Woods, Bradley Whitford, Maude Apatow, Molly Shannon and June Squibb.
Joe Seo, who stars in Spa Night, also received a special mention for his performance.
The festival’s audience awards were presented to Nathan Adloff’s Miles, which received the U.S. Narrative Audience Award; Carly Usdin’s Suicide Kale, Audience Award for Best First U.S. Dramatic Feature; and Annalise Ophelian’s Major!, U.S. Documentary Audience Award.
