Underworld: Blood Wars–Fifth Chapter of Franchise

Sony’s Underworld: Blood Wars, the fifth entry in the franchise, is opening at 3,065 sites through the Screen Gems label with a forecast of a $15 million debut.

The franchise has racked up more than $500 million globally with Kate Beckinsale reprising her Selene vampire hunter role in the new installment, directed by Anna Foerster.

The trashy, low-budget franchise has found loyal audiences, despite negative reviews.

Looking great, Kate Beckinsale returns as Vampire death dealer Selene, as she fends off brutal attacks from both the Lycan clan and the Vampire faction that betrayed her.

In this chapter, written by Cory Goodman, she can rely on two allies, David (Theo James) and his father Thomas (Charles Dance).

She pulls all of her resources in her goal to stop the eternal war between Lycans and Vampires, even if it means she has to make some major sacrifices.
