Vision Films has set an October 11 release for romantic comedy Sam, the feature directing debut of Nicholas Brooks; his father Mel Brooks is executive producer.
Sam will be available on DVD & VOD with special theatrical events in New York and Los Angeles.
Sibyl Santiago produced “Sam” with a screenplay by Nicholas Brooks and John A. Gallagher.
The story follows a New York City alpha male (Brock Harris) who is suddenly transformed into a beautiful woman, played Natalie Knepp (“Orange is the New Black”).
Sean Kleier, Stacy Keach, Morgan Fairchild, Bryan Batt, James McCaffrey and Sarah Scott also star.
Nicholas Brooks has worked for 25 years as a story editor for his father’s production company Brooksfilms. “Sam” is his sixth screenplay.
“Working with my dad on my first feature has been a fantastic experience – he is a continuously supportive, caring and wonderful executive producer,” he said.
