A new fake trailer from the comedy video site pokes fun at the age disparity between Lawrence and her characters in the films of David O. Russell.
She’s collaborated with the filmmaker on three movies, all of which required her to play women almost twice her age.
At 25, Lawrence plays a 40-year-old mother of three in “Joy,” her latest picture for him.
At 23, she played the mother of a 5-year-old and the wife of 39-year-old Christian Bale in “American Hustle.”
At 21, Lawrenece played a widow and 38-year-old Bradley Cooper’s girlfriend in “Silver Linings Playbook.”
Now she plays a “really, really old lady who still looks totally young and hot” in her next movie, according to the video. “This spring, get ready to see Jennifer Lawrence play her oldest character yet: An 89-year-old woman that looks like she’s 16,” the voiceover says.
The rest of the cast includes Donald Sutherland as her boyfriend and Robert DeNiro as her great-grandson.
DeNiro, who Lawrence starred alongside in all three aforementioned Russell films, plays Lawrence’s father in “Joy.”
However, art may be imitating art soon as Lawrence told Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan during an appearance on “Live! With Kelly and Michael” that she could be taking on the role of De Niro’s mom in an upcoming Russell project.
“David is making something right now and the plan, so far, is for me to play Bob De Niro’s mother,” Lawrence said. “I think that the more people give him crap about me being too young for his parts, he’s like, ‘Oh yeah, watch this’ — so we’ll see.”
Russell himself has said in the past that he initially thought Lawrence was too young for the role of Tiffany in the dark romantic comedy “Silver Linings Handbook” — distributed by The Weinstein Company — but she changed their minds with her Skype audition.
