Four teenage girls go scuba diving in a ruined underwater city, where they quickly find themselves in a watery hell. Their adventure turns to horror when they learn that they are not alone in the submerged caves.
As they swim deeper into the claustrophobic labyrinth of caves, they enter the territory of the deadliest shark species in the ocean.
The film stars Sophie Nélisse, Corinne Foxx, Brianne Tju, Sistine Stallone, Davi Santos, Khylin Rhambo, Brec Bassinger, John Corbett, and Nia Long.
Made for a budget of $12 million, it should debut in the $6 million-$7 million range when it opens theatrically, the weekend of August 16-18.
The 2017 original, which starred Many Moore and Claire Holt, had earned $11.2 million in its debut, on its way to grossing a strong $44 million domestically.
