Quentin Tarantino will co-write the upcoming “Django” comicbook sequel — a crossover featuring the iconic Zorro character.
Dynamite and DC Entertainment are publishing the “Django/Zorro” series, which Tarantino will pen alongside Matt Wagner, who wrote the comics “Zorro” and “Zorro Rides Again,” and Reginald Hudlin, who wrote the first “Django Unchained” series and produced the movie.
This will mark Tarantino’s first foray into comics as he wasn’t directly involved with the original “Django Unchained” adaptation. He will come up with the final script this time around.
“I’m very very excited about both this story and the opportunity to work with Matt,” Tarantino said in a press release. “It was reading his Zorro stories that convinced me what a good idea it was to join these two icons together.”
“Django/Zorro” is slated for release in the second half of 2014.
