In a career spanning almost half a century, John Frankenheimer had made 29 feature films and half a dozen TV movies.

Though he was never nominated for the Best Director Oscar, several actors scored big in his movies, earning Academy nominations, in both the lead and supporting categories.

The best decade of his career was no doubt in the 1960s, when he was in his 30s.
