Aloma of the South Seas (1941) B

Paramount

Alfred Santell's exotic romantic adventure, "Aloma and the South Seas," stars Jon Hall as an islander, sent to the U.S. to get formal education, but he's forced back to his home, when a rebellion erupts after his father dies.

The love interest is played by the charming Dorothy Lamour, who was popular then due to her appearances in "The Road" pictures.

This was the second teaming of Hall and Lamour after their successful (and erotic) appearance in the disaster picture, "Hurricane."

At the time, the recreation of a volcano eruption was impressive, thus winning an Oscar nomination.
