Oscar Movies: Bread, Love and Dreams–Italian Comedy

In Luigi Comencini’s comedy, Vittorio de Sica (better known as director, “Bicycle Thieves”) plays a new policeman in a small Italian town, searching for his wife.

In the process, he courts a beautiful woman (Gina Lollobrigida), but she favors his deputy.
