Academy Awards and Nominations
No Lumet film had ever won the Best Picture Oscar, but several were nominated.
Of Lumet’s rich output (over 40 films) during half a century, from 1957 to 2007, 14 had been nominated for various Oscars: acting, writing, directing, and so on.
Of the many performers nominated for Oscars in Lumet’s films, only 3 had actually won the Oscar, all for the 1976 Netwrok: Peter Finch, Best Actor; Faye Dunaway, Best Actress, and Beatrice Straight, Best Supporting Actress.
