Oscar 2006: American Cinema Editors (ACE) Nominees

Jan 12, 2007–The American Cinema Editors have nominated “Babel,” “Casino Royale,” “The Departed,” “The Queen” and “United 93” for best-edited drama. “The Devil Wears Prada,” “Dreamgirls,” “Little Miss Sunshine,” “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest” and “Thank You for Smoking” were nominated for comedy or musical.

Winners of the ACE Eddie awards, which includes five TV categories, will be announced Feb. 18 at the organization's 57th annual ceremony at the Beverly Hilton.

Stephen Mirrione and Douglas Crise for Par Vantage's “Babel”;
Stuart Baird for Sony's “Casino Royale”;
Thelma Schoonmaker for Warner's “The Departed”; Lucia Zucchetti for Miramax's “The Queen”;

Documentary Nominations

Jay Cassidy and Dan Swietlik for Paramount Vantage's “An Inconvenient Truth,”

Samuel D. Pollard for PBS' “When the Levees Broke: A Requiem in Four Acts. Part One.”

Last year's winners were Hughes Winborne (“Crash”) for drama and Michael McCusker (“Walk the Line”) for comedy/musical.
