In the trailer for the new Paramount film, Book Club, four women read E.L. James novel’s “Fifty Shades of Grey,” and their personal lives immediately change.
Book Club opens nationwide on May 18.
Diane Keaton (Diane), Jane Fonda (Vivian), Candice Bergen (Sharon) and Mary Steenburgen (Carol) play successful older women getting back into the dating world, due to the erotic thriller. In the trailer, the ladies laugh, joke and support one another.
“Maybe things with us will go bust, but that’s life,” Diane preaches. “And I’m not through living mine yet.”
The four women deal with the stigmas of dating later in life and enjoying sex, but along the way they have their friendship to hold onto. They’re not afraid to make light of it all, like when Candice Bergen’s character gets caught on a dating website at work and Diane Keaton wears a turtleneck for date night.
The four women are joined by Andy Garcia, Craig T. Nelson, Don Johnson, Alicia Silverstone .
The movie was written by Erin Simms and Bill Holderman, who also directed.
